Mars Moves!

Mars is named after the Roman god of war.

When looking at Planet Mars – one can see a little, red and energetic planet, perfectly visible to the naked eye. On these days Mars rises in the middle of the night in the east and from there travels the skies upwards till morning.

Mars is one of our two closest celestial neighbors. From one side of earth, the one closer to the sun – there’s Venus, and from the other side, further away into space, there’s Mars.

Mars and Venus were lovers in Roman mythology. They are also a couple of opposites – Venus is about love and feelings, and Mars – war and action.

They also represent the two genders, as Mars is the masculine embodiment, and Venus – the feminine. Their ancient symbols were adapted to represent the male and female worlds.

In the personal astrological chart Mars’ location will tell about the person’s ability to do things; set goals, conquer aims, and accomplish projects.  The specific nature of one’s action will be determined by the astrological realms Mars is in.

Mars also affects our fighting tendencies, our bad temper and our outbursts – as it is the god of war.

Mars moves quickly in the skies, moving every two months or so from one astrological realm to the other. From every astrological realm Mars’ effects on us are different.

This week Mars is moving into the astrological realm of the Swan (constellation Leo), and will stay there until December 1st. From there Mars will teach us how to control our energy levels so we can work for a longer term. It teaches us to be true leaders and do things powerfully – yet maturely and responsibly.
